Card Alignment is a Saturnian sliding puzzle featuring 52 playing cards, aligned into 4 rows & 13 columns. The point of the game is to align all of the cards without "locking" the system to the point the game cannot be solved.
The game is a sliding puzzle that involves moving either a column upwards/downwards or a row left/right. The game ends when all of the cards are aligned in the correct column with the correct suit in the correct row. When a card slides off the board, it will be moved to the other end.
The suits are aligned at the end of the game. The way the game ends in that the suits must be in line in this order: Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts.
The ace of the suit must be the first in line, so it goes: A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K. If the ace is on the end, the puzzle must be moved to the right.
Card lock is when a row or column have aligned to their respective suits or numbers. When this happens, the system "locks" the column or row, forcing the other rows or columns to be independent & left to move on their own. (ex.: the 3 of Spades is moved into a column with the other 3's. This column locks & the whole system can no longer move horizontally, all other columns have to move vertically if one is targeted on it's own. If a locked card is moved, the whole system has to shift in the same direction)
If a row is locked (which is a rare scenario), the whole system cannot move any columns vertically without forcing everything to shift in that direction. The entire system can only move the rows horizontally.

To free a card from card lock, you have to move the system into the "freedom space", this is where the cards align with their correct spots perfectly. This allows the lock to break & the system is independent again unless it is locked again. The cards lock again once the freedom space is occupyed by the correct cards.
